Margaret is an IP Manager based in our Dubai office.
Margaret works on contentious and non-contentious trade mark matters including trade mark portfolio management, clearance and prosecution across the Middle East and North Africa. Having rejoined Rouse in 2019, Margaret is now part of the Trade Marks Group in Dubai where she is responsible for all aspects of trade mark prosecution work.
Originally having joined in 2000, Margaret worked in the litigation and dispute resolution team where she advised clients on implementing IP brand protection programs for multinational companies throughout the Middle East, North Africa and Turkey. She also managed litigation cases and prepared regional legal advice on the protection of IP rights.
Margaret trained with Maclay, Murray and Spens (now Dentons) in Glasgow, London and Edinburgh and joined their intellectual property (IP) department in Glasgow in 1998. She worked on all aspects of commercial IP law. This included IP corporate support work for share and asset disposal and acquisitions, drafting and negotiating IP agreements, and involvement in the IP aspects of investments in companies including technology starts ups and university spin outs.
