IP Paralegal

Main duties
Office Duties:

  • Providing transactional and legal support to IP Attorney in enforcement team, but not limited to trademarks, patents, and related IP mattes.
  • Conducting comprehensive legal and factual research, including consultation and liaison with relevant authorities.
  • Drafting legal advice, reports, documents under the supervision of an IP Attorney.
  • Translating legal and supporting documents as required.
  • Preparing and drafting documents for submission to relevant IP departments and enforcement authorities.
  • Managing diaries, monitoring deadlines, and following up on client matters.
  • Maintaining and updating internal databases and case management systems.
  • Arranging for certification of legal documents (e.g., POA, DOA, Declaration of Change, etc.).
  • Supporting the team with ad-hoc tasks as assigned by supervising attorneys.

Enforcement & Investigation Duties:

  • Preparing, filing, and submitting with IP offices, enforcement authorities and relevant ministries.
  • Liaising and coordinating with IP officers, government officials, investigators, and law enforcement on enforcement actions.
  • Assisting in gathering evidence, conducting investigations, and preparing reports regarding suspected IP infringement.
  • Supporting the preparation of evidence, exhibits, and documentation for enforcement actions, raids, or litigation.
  • Attending external meetings, hearings, or enforcement actions as required.

Compliance and Monitoring:

  • Tracking and monitoring the status of enforcement case and ensure compliance with administrative decisions.
  • Preparing compliance and status reports for internal and client use.

 

Qualification and Requirement:

  • 1–3 years of relevant experience in an IP legal environment, preferably with enforcement exposure.
  • Good knowledge of IP practice in Cambodia.
  • Strong proficiency in English and Khmer, with excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Strong legal research, drafting, and analytical skills.
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Professional attitude, sound judgment, and adherence to policy guidelines.
  • Good interpersonal skills, cross-cultural sensitivity, and a collaborative team player.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in MS Office and legal database management.

 

Working conditions

  • Location: Phnom Penh
  • Salary: Negotiable, based on experience.
  • Benefits: As per company policy (e.g., performance bonus, private health insurance, annual health check-up, annual retreat, seniority pay, 18 days annual leave).
  • Working hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00 am–6:00 pm (1-hour lunch break).
