Responsibilities and Duties
We are looking for a Patent Paralegal to take part in our growing patent practice and assist our patent team with filing and prosecuting patent applications domestically and internationally. In this role, your duties will include maintaining patent dockets, preparing patent applications, monitoring the filing status of patents, and reporting to clients.
To thrive as a Patent Paralegal, you should excel at your administrative skills. A fit candidate must be well-organized and a strong communicator. A plus would be if you possess basic knowledge of IP, preferably patent filing and prosecution procedures.
An outstanding Patent Paralegal will be a team player whose resourcefulness translates into excellent support to the patent team.
Responsibilities Include:
- Collaborating with the Thai Patent Office, attorneys, technical specialists, foreign associates, and colleagues.
- Assisting attorneys in preparing applications for filing by resolving discrepancies, errors, and omissions.
- Extracting relevant information on patent applications from correspondence and database of Thai Patent Office.
- Entering new cases; patent/petty patent/design application, draft, search, opposition etc., into internal docketing database.
- Maintaining docketing, tracking deadlines and reminders, and generating docket daily and weekly reports to the team.
- Maintaining patent files and regularly reviewing records.
- Reporting application updates to clients
Qualification:
- Thai nationality
- Bachelor's Degree in any related field. A second degree in Law or passing a law-related coursework is a plus.
- Fluency in reading and writing skills in Thai and English. TOEIC® test score should be 650 or up.
- Good command of MS Office, especially Words, Excel.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities, collaborate with others and work under pressure.
- Attention to detail, highly organized, teamwork.
- Possess positive attitude towards routine paperwork.
- Hardworking, team player, self-disciplined, and self-motivated with positive working attitude.
- Previous work experience in a law firm is an advantage.
